My buddy Jesse commissioned me to make a costume for him to match his girlfriend Julie, who was going as a sort of Queen of the Briny Deep. I went for a very knightly feel for this guy, the King of Crustaceans. The claws stay on with velcro straps, and everything was spray painted for quickness and ease. I have a red union suit I'm going to loan him also so he'll be all crabby all over.
Well, I used the remaining skulls from my Home Depot three pack and made these two Halloween props. The ghost is a wooden frame with burlap in dipped in house paint, and the skull is cotton adhered with latex caulk and painted with wood stain. Both look pretty gross in person!
It's been over a decade since I've had a yard that I could decorate for Halloween, so this year I'm trying to build up my collection from scratch again. The first piece I'm making is this guy, Chester, which I constructed out of chicken wire and burlap strips soaked in house paint and left to dry. The skull was bought from Home Depot, 3 for $10, so I'll probably make a couple more things soon with the rest of them!
